New to psychotherapy?

Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step! Reaching out to a therapist for the first time can feel uncomfortable, and the unfamiliarity may bring up feelings of uncertainty or fear. At Ask Psychotherapy Hub, our clinic coordinator and team of therapists are here to support you every step of the way. As you browse our team profiles, you may find a therapist whose approach resonates with you. Feel free to let us know if there’s a particular therapist you’d like to schedule your free consultation with.

During your first meeting, expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere as you and your therapist establish a trusting connection. Together, we'll discuss your concerns, goals, and the therapeutic process.

Your therapist will listen actively, offering a non-judgmental space for you to express yourself. This is your journey, and we encourage you to take an active role in shaping it. As you share your experiences, your therapist will guide you toward self-discovery and provide valuable coping tools. Our therapists are trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and deeply curious. 

The "fit" between you and your therapist is one of the most important factors in successful therapy outcomes. We encourage open communication, and you’re welcome to express your needs or preferences at any time. If you feel that a particular therapist isn’t the right fit, remember, it’s okay to try someone else. Every therapist has their own unique approach, and that's a great thing!
