Individual Therapy
"Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within."
- Gabor Maté
New to psychotherapy?
Welcome and Bravo! Reaching out to a therapist for the first time is often uncomfortable and the unfamiliar and uncertainty can be scary. Our clinic coordinator and therapists at Ask Psychotherapy Hub are here to help you feel safe and supported from the moment you reach out. By browsing our team of therapists, you may find someone's profile that speaks most to you. You are encouraged to let us know if there is a particular therapist you are interested in having your free consult with,
During your first meeting, expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere as you and your therapist establish a trusting connection. Together, we'll discuss your concerns, goals, and the therapeutic process.
Your therapist will actively listen, providing a non-judgmental space for self-expression. Expect to play a big role in shaping your therapeutic journey. As you share your experiences, insights, and challenges, your therapist will guide you toward self-discovery and offer you valuable coping tools. Our therapists are trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and curious. For more about what this means, click here.
The "fit" of the therapeutic relationship is the most important ingredient to successful therapy outcomes. We encourage you to be open and direct with your therapist and remember you can always change your mind or try another therapist. No two therapists are alike, and that's a great thing!
Returning to therapy?
Welcome back to the transformative journey of therapy! Whether you out-grew your last therapist, are looking for a fresh approach and perspective, or any other reason- we are here to meet you where you are at. Your therapist is happy to know what you liked and liked least about your past therapy experience, and what groundwork you'd like to revisit or build upon. Your new therapist will work with you to tailor your sessions to your present and evolving needs. Together, you'll delve deeper into self-discovery, building on the parts that have served you well and introducing new ways of dealing with your past and present.
