Tim Poon (he/him)
Speech-Language Therapist

Have You Ever Wondered:

  • "Why does it hurt to talk, especially when I'm anxious or stressed?"

  • "Why do I always feel like I have a lump in my throat?"

  • "Why is my voice sounding raspy or hoarse?

Just as stress, anxiety, or trauma can affect our emotional and mental well-being, they can also impact how we use our voice. These emotional challenges can lead to vocal strain, tension, and discomfort, which may, over time, affect your voice quality. Left unaddressed, this can contribute to physical changes in the vocal cords, such as nodules or other irregularities, further compromising the clarity and sound of your voice.

Through personalized voice therapy, Tim can help you develop healthier vocal habits, reduce strain, improve quality, and support emotional and physical healing. Tim’s passion for the human voice led him to pursue classical vocal training at the University of Toronto, followed by a master's degree in speech-language pathology.

With over 20 years of experience across diverse healthcare settings, Tim has worked with clients from all walks of life, including students, professionals, sports coaches, public speakers, singers, actors, and more.

Tim is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario, a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada, and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto.
